Digital vs. Film

After shooting film professionally for nearly 10 years, we are now a huge fan of the digital medium. Many of you may wonder what the difference is between digital and film.... The answer? A lot. There are many advantages to shooting your photos digitally.

1. You have the choice of having color, black and white or even sepia toned headshots all from the same photo. Agencies are choosing more and more color headshots, so you have many options with the printing.

2. We shoot the session, look at the proofs, erase what we don't like and burn a disk right there. You go home with the disk that day. No more waiting for proof sheets again! You have the same options you have with film. You can make proof sheets, 4X6's or just look at the disk on your computer! It is easier than film.

3.You have the option to sit down with me when you are ready and have me do basic retouching and/or set up your headshot to your specifications. Available for $20.00 per photo.

4. With film... it ends. There is nothing more frustrating then having 3 frames left on a shoot and 2 more changes. With digital it doesn't end, so I make sure that you get the looks that you want. Quite often I shoot "over" the session.

5. In terms of quality... digital is superior. Not only is it incredibly sharp, I have the option to control lightness/darkness and color contrast with the click of a button. This way you get the results you want.
